Text Box: Dear Friends,

The world continues to convulse with earthquakes, floods, cold winter, disease, war and more! It can be a dismal picture. Orphaned children, broken bodies and countless dead. What should we say to these things! What is there to say? Who can explain? Difficult questions abound with few satisfactory answers. In this book “Surprise Me Lord,” Herbert Brokering writes:
Lord, while I am praying now, someone is losing life.
While I am here alive and making plans for the future,
	someone is dying.
While I have it good, someone is in trouble.
while I celebrate, someone is in sorrow.
While I am glad, someone is crying.
Lord, this world needs life.
I need to see ahead, to be sure, to be unafraid,
to know for sure where the life is.
You have assured me of life.
And so I celebrate in this dying world, for I am sure,
	I expect, and I see.
Keep me celebrating until the end, and then give me a
celebration that no eye has ever seen,
	except you, Jesus.
					Someone Is Crying p.41

“...no eye has ever seen”...an interesting thought. There is so much in life we don’t see - so much we can’t see or understand. The season of Lent starts on Ash Wednesday, February 17th. There is much in the Lenten Journey we can’t see or understand. It was God’s plan for Jesus to go to the cross. A peculiar plan. Our meditations this year will revolve around “Difficult Questions of Lent.”

February 17 - “Why are we here?”
		              24 - “What was Satan’s Role?”
March 3 - “Should we Strike with a Sword?”
10 - “Who is the Greatest?”
17 - “Why are You Sleeping?”
  		              24 - “Why Pilate Couldn’t Win?”
Maundy Thursday 4/1 - “Are you the Son of God?”
          Good Friday 4/2 - “Why a Crucifixion?”
Easter 4/3 - “Can you Believe It?”

Our Lenten Wednesday Worship services are at noon with a meal after and at 6:30 pm with a meal at 5:30 pm.

Come and help me wrestle with some difficult questions!
